Catholic Mutual Group was established as The Catholic Mutual Relief Society of America in 1889 by a group of Midwest Catholic bishops who were unable to obtain reasonably priced, reliable insurance on their churches.
As a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit that is part of the Catholic Church, we serve only Church-owned institutions and have no obligations to stockholders or a profit motive, only to the needs and mission of the Church.
