Summer 2014

Summer Maintenance Checklist

Did you know that June is National Safety Month? That makes this the perfect month to do a thorough inspection of your facilities to identify any potential safety hazards. And since many parish schools are empty this time of year, it also gives you plenty of time to make any repairs or replacements without disturbing the students.

Our Summer Maintenance Checklist can help walk you through what you should be looking for on your inspection tour.

Don't Let a Runaway Bounce House Happen To You

Parish-sponsored festivals and Catholic day camps provide hours of summertime fun for kids. And bounce houses are a feature that many children look forward to most of all.

However, several recent incidents involving children getting seriously injured as a result of bounce houses being blown into the air are a terrifying reminder that these inflatables can pose a threat to the people in and/or around them.

If your diocese allows use of inflatables and you plan on using a bounce house at one of your events this year, please take the time to review our Catholic Mutual CARES rules for bounce house safety. You can find these, as well as our Vendor Hold Harmless / Indemnity Agreement, by clicking here.

Taking these simple safety precautions will help you ensure a safe and enjoyable festival for all.
