We have an excellent opportunity available for a Service Office Assistant in our New York City location.

The person in this position will provide administrative and clerical support to our Operations Manager. Duties include: answering incoming calls; processing mail, copying/scanning documents, preparing reports, and drafting certificates of coverage in a timely and accurate manner. This person will also process Diocese Worker’s Compensation claims in a timely and professional manner, utilizing our claims procedure manual and advising the Operations Manager of any potential risk problems. This person will also maintain an accurate calendar, record a diary system for all risk management inspections and claims and assist the Operations Manager in claims processing functions, as delegated. This position requires letter writing and computer skills (including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Adobe, type 60+wpm), attention to detail and accuracy, excellent phone etiquette, and organizational skills. The ability to maintain confidentiality and work well independently is a must.

Requirements of this position include a high school diploma and at least three years’ experience in a clerical setting, preferably in an insurance agency. Knowledge of Catholicism is preferred.
