Underwriting Assistant Manager

We have an excellent opportunity available for an Underwriting Assistant Manager. The person in this position will be responsible for overseeing the processing and maintenance of all Property and Liability Business and directing the workflow of the department, providing accurate and timely quotes, policies and certificates to the Member Services Department by gathering the necessary data, distributing and directing the workflow, reviewing Certificate/Policy forms and bookings for accuracy, and ensuring compliance with numerous state and insurance licensing regulations and developing, implementing and monitoring procedures to comply with those regulations.
The Underwriting Assistant Manager should have an undergraduate degree and 5 to 7 years’ experience in the insurance field and/or insurance agency. Management experience preferred but not required. Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
In addition to the above, the individual should have the following characteristics:
1. Ability to organize, supervise, train and direct a professional staff.
2. Ability to develop, communicate and regulate standards and procedures.
3. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
