We have an opportunity available for an experienced Risk/Claims Manager located in our Charleston Service Office. This individual provides strategic Risk Management services such as creating and monitoring risk management policies,
promoting safety awareness through educational seminars and training, writing of newsletters and distribution of other safety materials. The individual in this position would be responsible for maintaining client satisfaction by keeping policies current and identifying and reporting problems in a timely manner. They would act as liaison between the Arch/Diocese and Home Office and direct the handling of claims by investigating and evaluating liability, verifying coverage, and negotiating a fair and equitable settlement.
The individual in this position must have a good understanding of insurance, marketing, rates, safety and communications, specifically with at least 7 years’ experience in property and casualty claims adjusting. He/she should be able to make independent, sound judgements and have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Must have an understanding of basic accounting procedures and have the ability to work independently without direct supervision.
A college degree is required, with a good understanding of Catholic Church procedures and hierarchy. Experience in reviewing contract details is necessary. Must be willing to work irregular hours and be on call for emergencies. Overnight travel is required up to 10%.
