We have an excellent opportunity available for a Claims Manager in our Home Office. With Customer Service as a primary focus, the person in this position will be responsible for ensuring that newly reported multi-line losses and pending claims are handled effectively and properly by reviewing coverages, coordinating vendors as necessary, engaging and working with independent adjusters throughout the US, authorizing payments/settlements or denials and reviewing claims handled by Home Office Claim Supervisors, Claims Representatives and by Service Office Claims/Risk Managers.
Occasionally travels to loss sites to effectively handle larger claims. Handles emergency after hour calls. Reviews recent laws and court decisions, communicates with Reinsurance Coordinator regarding the notification of loss and the request for payment to the Markets, and identifies/coordinates subrogation opportunities.
This position seeks an individual with multi-line claims knowledge, who embraces a service-minded environment and has proven experience interacting with Insureds. The candidate must exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred. Requirements of this position include an undergraduate degree or comparable education and 10 years’ experience in property/casualty claims. Professional designation such as CPCU, SCLA, AIC preferred.
