The History
Catholic Mutual considers Risk Management an essential part of our Members’ coverage programs. Since the mid-1980’s, Catholic Mutual has worked aggressively with arch/dioceses in an effort to manage the property and liability exposures of the Catholic Church. Today, Catholic Mutual offers a comprehensive choice of risk management services to its Members.
- Risk Management services have been developed specifically for Catholic Church risk. Services are not generic, but address specific Catholic Church exposures in a unique and comprehensive manner.
- Catholic Mutual will not just provide you with materials. We partner with you to tailor specific programs. More importantly we assist with the actual implementation.
- The services provided by Catholic Mutual (with the exception of our onsite safety inspections) are complimentary to Catholic Mutual Members. As a Church organization, Catholic Mutual believes that Risk Management services are an integral component of a successful coverage program and should be provided without additional charge to our Members.
Catholic Mutual has truly been the pioneer for Church Risk Management. To further our mission, Catholic Mutual established its Risk Management Leadership Committee in 2008. The committee brings Catholic Mutual clients together with company personnel to brainstorm on liability issues facing the Catholic Church.

Our website provides the foundation on which Catholic Mutual Group is able to electronically service your coverage and risk management needs. Member-specific sites are provided containing policies and other specific information customized for each member.
"CARES"
"CARES" is an acronym for Comprehensive Attentive Responsive Effective Service. It consists of over 140 documents of practical safety information for the Church. Numerous topics are available to assist our Member’s risk management needs.
Catholic Mutual Online Training
Catholic Mutual has partnered with OPUS to produce high quality church-specific training. The training is available from Catholic Mutual's website and provides an interactive experience for the user to maximize learning.
